Emergency Boarding Up Following Burglary
ASJ Locksmiths attended a property after the homeowner discovered that an intruder had gained access through the rear door. Upon arrival, we found that keys had been left in the back door and were visible from outside, allowing an opportunist to gain entry to the property.
As a security reminder, we always recommend that keys are never left in doors or within sight of windows, as this can provide an easy opportunity for burglars.
The rear door glass had been broken during the incident and the property was left insecure. We carefully removed the remaining broken glass and carried out emergency boarding up works to secure the door. The boarding was completed without causing any additional damage to the door or frame, meaning only the glass panel required replacement rather than the entire door.
The property was left safe, secure and protected while arrangements were made for the replacement glass to be installed.
Emergency Boarding Up Following Accidental Damage
ASJ Locksmiths attended a property after the homeowner's son accidentally dropped a heavy item onto the front door while carrying shopping into the property. The impact caused the glazed panel to crack and shatter, leaving the door insecure.
With two young children living at the property, the homeowner was understandably concerned about safety and contacted us to secure the door as quickly as possible.
Upon arrival, we carefully removed the damaged glass and made the area safe before carrying out emergency boarding up works. Measurements were then taken to allow the homeowner to arrange a replacement glazed panel of the correct size and specification.
The property was successfully secured without causing any damage to the door, frame or surrounding area. By boarding up the existing glazed section, only the glass panel required replacement, avoiding the need for a costly new door.
The property was left safe, secure and protected while arrangements were made for the replacement glass to be installed.
